Chapter 5: Importance of Book Distribution; Book Power

Importance of Book Distribution; Book Power

October 7, 1972, ISKCON San Francisco
(An excerpt from a letter)

Śrīla Prabhupāda said that our real preaching was distributing books.

"What can you say to a person in three minutes?" he asked. "But if he reads one page of a book it may turn him around. However you have to do it that is okay. But, if you get the person angry and he doesn't take a book, then that is your foolishness."

Purity is the force. Śrīla Prabhupāda is the pure devotee and we are his humble servants. It is our good fortune to be able to distribute his words in book form.

"My Guru Mahārāja daily printed a small paper," Śrīla Prabhupāda said. "The paper cost a few cents and whenever a brahmacārī came back from the streets and said he had sold one, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvatī became very happy and said, 'Oh, that is very nice what you have done. You are a very good boy.'"
