কৃষ্ণ কহে, — “প্রতিমা চলে, কোথাহ না শুনি ।”
বিপ্র বলে, — “প্রতিমা হঞা কহ কেনে বাণী ॥ ৯৫ ॥

Text

kṛṣṇa kahe, — “pratimā cale, kothāha nā śuni”
vipra bale, — “pratimā hañā kaha kene vāṇī

Synonyms

kṛṣṇa kahe — Lord Kṛṣṇa says; pratimā cale — a Deity walks; kothāha — anywhere; śuni — I have not heard; vipra bale — the young brāhmaṇa replies; pratimā hañā — in Your Deity form; kaha kene vāṇī — how do You speak words.

Translation

Lord Kṛṣṇa said, “I’ve never heard of a Deity’s walking from one place to another.”

Purport

The brāhmaṇa replied, “That is true, but how is it that You are speaking to me, although You are a Deity?
